Once a mild-mannered media theorist, one day James got bored, taught himself to code and transformed into a computational social scientist. It only hurt a little bit.

I work as a Data Analyst for the charity Autism Action helping to improve the lives of Autistic people.

I specialise in large scale text and network analysis, data visualisation and webscraping from unusual sources using Python 🐍.

I have a background in academia, teaching and studying stuff like Radicalisation and the Far-Right, Ideology and the Politics of Tech Cultures, and Sociotechnical change.

Fun Facts

• I have the prefix Dr. on my bank cards because I have a PhD, which of course is the primary benefit.
• I get to put FRSA in my email signature because I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
